Playing the Real Estate Game

Do you know the ABC's of real estate?? ABC

As we were seated in a restaurant last night, as is the habit, we all placed our Iphones on the corner of the table.  While we were waiting on our dinner, my 26 year old son  asked me if I played "Words with Friends" on my Iphone.  Interestingly enough this was the second time this topic came up this week.  Earlier when I was in the hair salon someone asked me if I played the word game on my Iphone. Apparently this is a popular game!

Words With Friends is an online/offline version of Scrabble that allows you to play single or multiple games at your own pace – with hours between moves, if necessary – with friends (as the name implies) or random players (friends you haven’t met yet?).  Iphone Application

My son proudly showed us about 12 active games running that were from 1 minute to several hours ago.  He then showed us how when a player makes a move in a game you are playing, you are notified that it’s your turn.  Play – or don’t – as your schedule permits.  Brilliant!

I love my Iphone and I have it loaded up with alot of Apps that I rely on in Real Estate, however, I don't have much time for games, and I don't want to get addicted!  I must save my precious time for writing my Blogs!

Words must have on my mind because I just could not go to sleep thinking about how overwhelming our vocabulary as Realtors can be to the consumer.  Think about it, and be honest with yourself, did you know what SEO (search engine optimatization)  was a year ago??  Sometimes I as I am writing my Blogs I am consumed by words that will be good SEO words, what about you?

Let's try some others:

  • FSBO - For Sale By Owner
  • POF- Proof of Funds
  • FHA- Federal Housing Authority
  • USDA- United States Department Agriculture
  • HUD- Housing Urban Development
  • MLS- Multiple Listing Service
  • CMA- Comparative Market Analysis

Most of you know all of these, but do our Buyers and Sellers know the lingo?

Real Estate is like a Word Game sometimes, we have to always be connecting and making moves, notifying our Buyers and Sellers.

Wordle is a site that will take the words you write about most often and creates a "word cloud" of the words. I thought it would be interesting to see what words I am using most often in my real estate business.  Check it out and see how you do!
