Lagniappe Living in Lake Charles, Louisiana: Downtown at Sundown Makes a Comeback in Lake Charles

Downtown at Sundown Makes a Comeback in Lake Charles

Downtown at Sundown in Lake Charles, Louisiana

downtown at sundown

Downtown at Sundown in Lake Charles is a series of 4 Friday evenings beginning May 13 and happens each Friday through June 3, 2011. As the name implies, Downtown at Sundown is held from 6-9pm. Its a free event for everyone where there is food, music, and artists scheduled in the Downtown section of Lake Charles. The event is sponsored by the City of Lake Charles and the Arts and Humanities Council to promote the diverse culture of our city and introduce what Downtown has to offer with regards to merchants, etc. Folks bring their lawn chairs and set up in and around the bandstand to "pass a good time" as we say here in Louisiana.

The best way to describe Downtown at Sundown is to compare it to a big block party!

Come unwind on a Friday evening to hear great music because that is what you will find at Downtown at Sundown which happens in the merchants parking lot at the corner of Broad and Ryan Streets.

Friday May 13th Chubby Carrier and Bayou Swamp Band will play.

Learn more about upcoming performances by viewing for a schedule of performers.
