Lagniappe Living in Lake Charles, Louisiana: Football Miracle on Mcneese Street in Lake Charles LA

Football Miracle on Mcneese Street in Lake Charles LA

Barbe High School  in Lake Charles Makes History!

It is  the most wonderful time of the year!  We are caught up in the holiday season of excitement of twinkling trees and magic of Santa.  Along with the holidays comes the thrill of football as we watch the 2012 year come to a close.

We had a little bit of magic and excitement right here in Lake Charles Friday night that has now been deemed "miracle on mcneese street"  This win is huge for Lake Charles and Barbe High School!!

A.M Barbe High School in South Lake Charles, made a tremendous comeback in a  5A district playoff game winning 49-48 in the last seconds of the game beating nemesis West Monroe.

With less than four minutes to play Barbe was down by three touchdowns  game announcers were doubtful they would win.

In the greatest comeback in the history of Louisiana high school football, Barbe rallies from a 27-point fourth-quarter deficit to defeat West Monroe, 49-48, and advances to the Class 5A state championship game next Saturday against Archbishop Rummel.

One of the most moving experiences of this game was this Huddle of Prayer with 13 seconds left right before the winning field goal kick!!!

Lake Charles is full of electricity and may will travel this weekend to new orleans to watch the Barbe Bucs fight for a championship in the Superdome!

The Barbe High School Show Choir performed this tribute at the Lake Charles Light up the Lake Celebration last night!  If you listen to this musical arrangement you cafeel  the spirit of Lake Charles

With a score of 49 - 48 it had to be an exciting game. Congratulations to one and all on a great win.

Good luck and success.
